There are two types of Labradors:
The English line labs are bred for conformation
and temperament. They are closest to the breed standard in appearance -
stocky, thick chest, blocky head.
The Field line labs are much more active and are
bred to have qualities for a successful hunting dog.
Labrador Retrievers come in three standard
colors: Yellow, Black, and Chocolate. Color does not make a
difference in the way your dog behaves. It is best to make a decision on
choosing a dog based on their sex, health, personality and energy level.
Labrador Retrievers come in all sizes. They are a
medium sized dog with a breed standard weight from 55lbs to 80lbs. Their
weight can vary and may not fall under the standard.
